FINALLY FALLEN IN LOVE WITH RED..

If you're a loyal follower you will know that I very rarely wear red on my lips. It makes me feel too done up & a little over the top. Wearing red lipstick is definitely out of my comfort zone for me but since I have a tan now, I thought red would look really gorgeous against my skin tone. Everything just seems better with a tan doesn't it?

During my short break in New York back in January, I picked up the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella on a bit of a whim. There had been so much hype surrounding them in the blogger community that I thought I would give them a go. I chose the shade Cruella because Anna sold it to me in one of her beauty videos, and I had also been on the hunt for a lovely true red for a while. 

I've tried a lot of red lipsticks/pencils/lipgloss' but I just haven't fallen in love with any. I find MAC reds quite drying and the Bourjois liquid lipsticks slide around a little too much for me. I had extremely high hopes for the Nars Velvet Matte's and thankfully, I haven't been left disappointed.

I love the creamy, yet matte formula. The product doesn't dry out my lips but it also stays in place which makes it an instant winner for me. The shade itself is to.die.for. A gorgeous, cool, true red. I like that you don't need a lip liner with this either so its really simple, quick and easy to use. 

Im really impressed with this lip pencil and I am now dying to try the rest of the shades. I think Sex Machine & Bolero are next on my list for sure. I've finally fallen in love with red and I could not be happier :)
